K&L Gates Adds Energy Disputes and Investigations Partner in Sydney
"K&L Gates has hired Peter Brabant as a partner in its Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice in Sydney; he will focus on energy transition disputes and regulatory investigations."
Brabant brings two decades of experience in resolving complex disputes, international arbitration, regulatory investigations and incident response. His practice focuses on energy transition disputes, including matters relating to decommissioning, climate change, renewable technologies and carbon capture and storage. He has advised Fortune 500 companies and industry leaders on high‑profile matters across the Asia Pacific.
He regularly assists clients with investigations across a broad range of subjects, including anti‑bribery and corruption, dawn raids, fraud, cybersecurity, environmental compliance, antitrust and tax. His client base spans the energy and resources, chemicals, mining, construction, projects and infrastructure, pharmaceuticals, technology and financial services sectors.
Brabant also completed a two‑and‑a‑half‑year secondment with Chevron, where he managed disputes and investigations for the Downstream, Chemicals and Midstream businesses across the Asia Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
